Yeah. I used to look at the Mandala Gohonzon as a sort of spiritual Rorschach test. Noe I realize that those are words on there, and they mean things.

I recall doing a "Shakyo" practice at the LA NShu temple a couple of years ago. That's where you write the Daimoku over and over - of course, I was tracing the Japanese characters, and doing quite a miserable job at it, too! I felt like a kindergartener!

It did cause me to focus on what I was doing, though. I was really concentrating, and it was just sort of me and the Daimoku and nothing else. Very cool experience.
