I can relate

I got an email from a member in Switzerland. She has two teenage children and is originally for the US. She wrote tome because her husband died in an accident two weeks ago. Wow, I can totally relate.
That emotional wall seems to be down, but then maybe I'm just keeping busy. I am very busy. It is airshow month and I'll be working days at work and nights at the airport. I'm already tired, but it is also fun. It is my own thing. The kids will be "volunteering" during the show. I enjoy the people and the work. My day job is mostly at the desk, but airshow is building and moving and planning and learning.
We had a Victory Over Violence (VOV) meeting last week. Both kids came and several adults. We had a good time and my kids really enjoyed it. They are getting introduced to Buddhism in fun ways from other people. That's great.
I think deep down, I know that chanting to our home gohonzon is going to be what makes me deal with Greg's death. So I just don't do it. I chant at other members' homes, but still have problems with my own. Soon I will have the courage to confront my feelings.

New Writers

As you noticed, we have some new writers. Bill Ankers writes Ankers Away. Bill's first entries are a great way to get to know him. He is a founding member of The Gathering of Friends and a good friend of Byrd. Another former SGI member who continues to practice. with the women who write Byrd's Chicks (I didn't like the name, but everyone else did, so it must be me) Byrd's Chicks is a group effort. Kris, Jean, Lauren and Michelle will all be contributing. It will be fun to get to know these women.

Soon we will be adding one more writer, Clown Hidden, and then we'll have ten writers - a good group to shed light on many views of Nichiren Buddhism or just shed light on our writers' lives. It is a growing step in memory of Greg and Byrd. This is not the group Greg would have gathered. He was a study kinda guy. Byrd would have loved the additions because she suggested most of them. Greg would be happy that FWP is continuing and growing. BTW, Bruce asked to resign his site and we removed it last night.

The writers are looking for a subject we can all address on our own sites. Any suggestions?

Nancy
