As you noticed, we have some new writers. Bill Ankers writes Ankers Away. Bill's first entries are a great way to get to know him. He is a founding member of The Gathering of Friends and a good friend of Byrd. Another former SGI member who continues to practice. with the women who write Byrd's Chicks (I didn't like the name, but everyone else did, so it must be me) Byrd's Chicks is a group effort. Kris, Jean, Lauren and Michelle will all be contributing. It will be fun to get to know these women.
Soon we will be adding one more writer, Clown Hidden, and then we'll have ten writers - a good group to shed light on many views of Nichiren Buddhism or just shed light on our writers' lives. It is a growing step in memory of Greg and Byrd. This is not the group Greg would have gathered. He was a study kinda guy. Byrd would have loved the additions because she suggested most of them. Greg would be happy that FWP is continuing and growing. BTW, Bruce asked to resign his site and we removed it last night.
The writers are looking for a subject we can all address on our own sites. Any suggestions?
Nancy
Posted by nt at September 5, 2008 08:20 PMWelcome to all, and thanks for all of your work and insights!
Are you going to continue with the Guest Blog/Question of the Week? I have one I had sent to greg back in May, that might still work if you are interested.
Namaste, Engyo Mike Barrett
Posted by: Engyo Mike Barrett at September 8, 2008 05:00 AMYeah, let's do it. Send it to me and I'll get it up on Guest Writer site.
Thanks,
Nancy
Thank you, Mike, for asking about the Question of the Week. I've been hoping that it would continue.
Posted by: Michele at September 9, 2008 12:06 AMThanks, Nancy. It will be good to see the site carry on. I can think of no better tribute to two stalwarts.
I think one interesting topic will be what exactly DID Nichiren mean when he wrote about wanting his followers to become "indivisible as fish and water in which they swim"? How do the individual writers view a world in which this is the case?
Engyo's written quite persuasively on this before, and his contribution would be splendid.... heck, Engyo should be writing one of these blogs!!!
Onwards!
Kris
