Kempon Hokke, Scientology, Soka Gakkai, and Success Stories

In Scientology and the Soka Gakkai, success stories are ways to gauge a cult members commitment to the organization. In the Kempon Hokke, success stories are inscrutable because they are found in the Enlightenment of the Buddha.

You know the old saying about D'Nile.

I might take you seriously if I thought you knew what you were talking about. Have I ever been to a large meeting where someone gave an expirience about something they were still struggling with? I've seen it at the chapter level for certain and that's the biggestmeeting I've been to in about 15 years. Do you get reports from all the meetings that you know what goes on? Or did someone tell you that this happened once and so you say that it happens all the time?

Try and give an experience at a large meeting citing a significant problem you have yet to overcome. It will either be edited by one of your senior's in faith [to include a "white" lie] or you will be advised to wait until the problem is completely resolved before giving the experience [no matter how important you feel your struggle would be as an encouragement to all.] You deal in lies and suppositions while I try, at least, to deal in the reality that the Lotus Sutra terms, "Thus". You still remind me of Monty Python's Black Knight were you not so tragic. So, although I do laugh at you from time to time, mostly, I rack my brains on how to bring you out of the burning house.

In the Soka Gakkai, success stories are ways to gauge a members commitment to putting the practice into action in their daily life. In the Kempon Hokke, success stories are inscrutable because nothing in Kempon Hokke makes any sense you must accept on faith that Mark Rogow is not insane.
