"In these forty years I have not yet revealed the truth."
Once the Pagoda is completed the scaffolding is discarded. The Lotus Sutra is the Pagoda or culmination of the Buddha's lifetime teaching.
As I said in my my last post about this deluded priest, over and over he teaches the Four Noble truth and the Eightfold Path like a twittering parrot. His teachings do not go beyond the Four Rules illucidated in the 14th Chapter of the Lotus Sutra. He should resign his post as a Nichiren priest and take up with Bhikshu Bodhi. Then he can ruminate all he wishes about the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path. As a Nichiren priest he does far more damage to True Teachings. No wonder the SGI both laughs at him and doesn't take anything he says seriously. He is not even in the same ballpark as Nichiren Daishonin let alone on the same team.
I won't waste too much time refuting him, however, because his influence in the world of Nichiren Buddhism is negligeable. Daisaku Ikeda is the powerful enemy of Buddhism. Millions of people have been fooled by him into believing his version of the Lotus Sutra, brainwashed into believing that the world of rapture, materialism, and hero worship is the same as the world of Buddhahood.
The Lotus Sutra, Chapter 15 says, "protect and keep". Protecting the Sutra is transmitting it perfectly without adding or subtracting anything. Adding the mentor-disciple relationship while subtracting the teaching of the Eternal Buddha Shakyamuni is their worst transgression and an error I don't see them correcting any time soon.
