SGI Non-Buddhism (Person not Law)

SGI (Person not Law)

The World Tribune (September 12, 1994, p. 5), in an article written by Senior Vice General Director David Kasahara, after stating that Mr. Ikeda's guidance is to be included in the Law, stated:

"To me, strictness means having absolute confidence in the Gohonzon. To know
how to apply this strictness in the best way for our lives today, it is very important to study President Ikeda's guidance. He teaches us how to apply the power of the Gohonzon and the Gosho to our lives at this time and in these circumstances. The sun imparts heat in this world impartially, but the question is how to create value from this heat for each individual. President Ikeda has the wisdom to enable each individual to gain happiness from the strictness of the Law."

Mr. Ikeda stated (World Tribune, May 3, 1996, p. 10): "Ultimately, Buddhism comes down to the PERSON(caps mine). I did not wait to place my trust in President Toda until I had learned about the Daishonin's teachings. Rather, I came to trust Buddhism because I first believed in the person, Josei Toda."

One does not have to be a rocket scientist to comprehend the implication of this statement. "Believe in the person Ikeda." You can't get more non-Buddhist than this.
