Low Person and Holy Person
Those who have a mind of hatred ,
Those who maintain a grudge,
Those who practice hypocrisy,
Those who have a dishonest opinion,
Those who flatter,
You have to know these are low persons.
Those who harm any living thing,
Those who have no affection towards a living thing,
You have to know these are low persons.
Those who harm and plunder people by dominating,
Those who tyrannize in town and village,
You have to know these are low persons.
Those who tell a lie for themselves
or others,
or as a witness,
You have to know these are low persons.
Those who have sexual intercourse
with the wife of relatives or friends,
by using violence,
Also those who have sexual intercourse
with the wife of relatives or friends
by mutual consent,
You have to know these are low persons.
Those who don't support aged father and mother,
in spite of vast wealth,
You have to know these are low persons.
Those who do violence and harass
mother and father, brother and sister,
or wife’s father and mother,
You have to know these are low persons.
Those who have been asked
about reason,
then teach useless and
unreasonable things
by hiding the truth,
You have to know these are low persons.
The ones who have done wrong
and continue doing wrong
secretly,
not wishing to be noticed,
You have to know these are low persons.
Those who praise themselves
and despise others
who have base minds and are arrogant,
You have to know these are low persons.
Those who distress others,
who are stingy,
who have bad desires,
who are stubborn,
who flatter,
who have no sense of shame,
You have to know these are low persons.
Those who slander the Buddha,
who slander the disciples of the Buddha,
whether priest or layman,
You have to know these are low persons.
Those who declare themselves to be saints
despite not being true saints,
those people who are insurgents against the world.
You have to know these are the lowest persons.
You are not a low person because of your birth.
you are not a holy person because of your birth.
You become a low person according to your doings.
you become a holy person according to your doings.
