Or Maybe?

....it was likening Mudras to gangsta' sign language on my blog. I have one universal mudra of disdain for them but then I'd never get back my additional 200 entries. Did you know that in Japan, some Shingon and Nichiren Shu temples have enshrined local Shinto deities? One Shingon temple in the early 1900s had a big shrine to the crockodile god, Kompira (which sounds like one of those Godzilla-Mothra types of monsters). It was located near a lakeside community that revered the crockodile. After the Meiji restoration and the wholesale separation of Buddhism and Shinto, they closed the crockodile shrine and the temple followed shortly thereafter because the only reason the fishermen went to the temple was for the crockodile shrine. Who could blame them;? much less bad karma worshipping a crockodile then Dainichi.
