MYOICHI-AMA GOZEN GO-HENJI
(A Response to My Lady, the Nun Myoichi)

Faith is nothing special. As a wife loves her husband, a husband devotes his life to his wife; as parents do not disown their children, and children do not desert their mother. You should put faith in the Lotus Sutra, Sakyamuni Buddha, Abundant Treasures Buddha, all Buddhas throughout the universe, bodhisattvas, and deities and chant Namu Myoho Renge Kyo. This is called faith.
Moreover, please always keep in mind the following words of the Buddha:
"Simply discard expedient teachings" and "Do not accept even a gatha of any
sutra other than the Lotus Sutra." It is important for you to keep this in mind all the time just as a woman keeps a mirror and a man carries a sword.
