Well the controversy is dying down. Dick Cheney peppers a guy with birdshot and then he gets on TV and tells three different stories about what he'd been drinking before the shooting. Suddenly this man who I haven't been able to understand or stand -- Well I suddenly understand him. Hell I even feel a glimmering smidgeon of sympathy. He must be a distant cousin. Can anyone say "Alcoholics Anonymous?"
I heard he was Quayle Hunting -- mistook his friend for Dan Quayle. Or was it Ambassador Wilson? And of course we'll never know how drunk he was because the Secret Service "protected him" from the local police. They "cooperated with the police" by strong arming them away from the VP. Federal Jurisdiction? No, it's just for this administration the SS are their own personal security guards. Oath to protect the Constitution? Forget it. They are the Presidents and the Vice President's retainers.
Power Gives folks the right to beat attempted murder raps or reckless endangerment raps, To decide that "national security" is whatever the hell protects their own securit; to get away with letting people die, to wage war and look snide on TV about it. To tell Senator's "F*** you" and go on to blow other folks away with shotguns. I wish the guy would press charges -- if he lives. but he won't -- wealth has it's privelages. And somehow they think there are no consequences -- that isn't true -- but we get some of the blowback through dependent origination. Cheney and Rumsfield were also behind Abu Garaib -- and they aren't going to worry about being killed in riots.
