Robin Red Breast

Robin Red Breast

There's birds in the air
I'm watching them fly.
And listening to one sing.
He's got a red breast,
that makes him a Robin.
What a nice song!

Have a good laugh little Robin
at all the other birds in the air.
You've got your own song,
so why should you care?

"Break away, start flying,
that worm's not mine,
it's going to some other nest,
to feed some other red-breast."

Keep your eyes open,
there are other worms there.
Or maybe a beetle,
why should you care?
Or maybe a spider,
if you will dare.
Keep your eyes open,
the little ones are waiting.

"Break away flying,
that worm, she is mine.
This one is going to my nest,
I need to feed my own babes.
So I can puff out my chest."

Have a good laugh little Robin
at all the other birds in the air.
You got your own song,
so why should you care?
