Below is a message of appreciation and courageous resolve that we just received from district leaders in Blacksburg where Virginia Tech University is located.
We have received a mountain of e-mails and telephone calls literally from friends and mass media all overthe world (including telephone call from Mr. Yoshimachi, Kai Zuehlke, et al)! To respond to all of them is impossible at present, so please convey our appreciation to all the members who recite daimoku for the safety of the local members here and the condolence of the families of the victims. We have every reason to reinforce our determination to promote peace, education, and culture by awakening the depth of each individual citizen of the world to exterminate human misery of any form.
Our prayers go out to everyone affected.

In light of today's tragic shooting spree at Virginia Tech University , we've been able to confirm that SGI students and faculty there whom we are aware of are unharmed. If you hear of any members with family or friends who've suffered loss as a result of this tragedy, we would sincerely appreciate you sharing that information with us. Feel free to e-mail or phone me directly, and I will be sure to pass the information to the Zone and Region leaders so we can help mobilize support and prayers.
