The Fountain of Youth by JEAN ANKER

I visited Mavis again last Wednesday and another interesting thing happened. I had decided to take her a bottle of a pure essential oil, since she's in to natural healing. I thought that she also might enjoy reading a book about the oils, so I went upstairs to our "library" to search for the book I was thinking of. While I was searching I noticed a book I had never read and thought the title sounded interesting so I pulled it out of shelf to read when I had time. Then I headed out to visit Mavis, not having found the book I was actually looking for.

Mavis was sitting on her front porch so to speak, which is just her little yard with a comfy bench and chairs in front of her trailer. Her son Jim was also there and it was a pleasure to meet him. Then Mavis and I had a really interesting conversation about life and death; things that you can talk to Mavis about like your talking about the weather. After about an hour had passed I remarked to her that she looked even more vibrant than when I had seen her in January. She told me she had been doing these exercises and she asked her son to come out and demonstrate a few of them. Then she said she had gotten them out of a book, but she had taken book back to the library. She said maybe she would have it next time I came so I could see the pictures in the book showing people doing the exercises. I asked her the name of the book and she said it was something like "The Fountain of Youth". Well that was amazing because it sounded like the book I had just seen at my house and was planning to read. When I told Mavis she said, well if it's the same book then you are definitely meant to do these exercises. When I got home I ran upstairs to my library and grabbed the book I had set aside but never actually opened and sure enough it was the same book. It had the illustrations of 5 Tibetan Exercises to keep you young. So I did the exercises immediately and have decided to start doing them every day!

Oh and on Saturday I got an email from one of Byrd's closets friends saying that they had her computer and were going to try to find the screenplay.

Jean,
I am so pleased that you are hanging around with Mavis. I guess I like the continutity, that Byrd was her friend, and now you know Mavis.

I'm also heartened that someone, somewhere, who cared about Byrd has her computer. I am looking forward to hearing more.

Cheers,
Kris

I like Mavis already. But now what was the exact title of that book? I want to try it, too!

CMC,
You can order it here...

http://www.amazon.com/Ancient-Secret-Fountain-Youth-Book/dp/038549162X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1236777362&sr=1-1

(cut and paste into your browser)

I looked it over and it seems to be a way to open
energy paths with movement. Ordered it (used) and will report back with my own results. I usually make sure any chiropractor who
works on my back acknowledges (and works with) these energy paths...same ones used in acupuncture, basically. If these exercises work
then results would be clear and probably dramatic.

Thanks, Jean, for keeping us connected with Mavis
and, in some small way, with Byrd. Patty

Hi everybody thank you for your comments.

The actual title of the book is:
ANCIENT SECRET OF THE FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH BY PETER KELDER

Jean,
Not meaning to detract from the dialog, but I believe the fountain of youth resides in the heart alone.

As Nichiren says, "It is the heart that matters most!"

Perhaps a Mavis is an example of that attitude. I do not know, but perhaps she has figured that out, as well.

I posted an entry on the 5 Rites.

I'm still trying to work them into the daily routine. But they do seem to make me feel better.

I love the line you wrote in your previous blog, "I have been in rhythm, but I'm not sure who's playing the music." Your entries about Mavis just go to show that when we give, we receive. It's all just one big circle, eh?

On a different note: Can you email me log-in info one more time? I have a new blog to post and can't remember how. I think I need to go visit Mavis and get some tips on how to sharpen my brain. Ha!

Love,
Queenie
